Market leading valves and fittings manufacturer, AVK UK, are delighted to announce their sponsorship of Premier Division Leaders, Newcastle University Athletic Football Club (NUAFC).
NUAFC operate to the values that are set out in the clubs’ constitution, these being; to provide opportunities for students to exercise and socialise through the medium of football and to further develop the skills of its members through the university performance sport programme.
Open to all Newcastle University students the club has been performing very well, with the first team currently sat top of both the Northern Alliance Premier League and the BUCS Northern 1A, as well as, having a cup-final and a cup semi-final coming up in the near future.
The clubs inclusive team ethos and drive to work hard, in order to achieve a unified goal, reflects the spirit of the AVK UK businesses and this played a significant role in NUAFC securing the sponsorship.
Julia Nixon, (UK Marketing Manager) explains ‘Sport is a very important part of university life, it keeps us healthy and allows young adults to develop communication skills. NUAFC’s values as a club resonate with those of AVK UK and we are proud to be in a position to help support this club.’
The aspirations of the club this year, is for the first team to gain promotion into the Northern League, followed by a promotion into the BUCS Northern Premiership. The second team are looking to be promoted into the Northern Alliance, with the third team aiming to win the BUCS Northern 7A league. This could potentially be a great year for the club!
Club President Mr Ollie Walden states ‘Sponsorship means everything to the club, without sponsorship, we simply would not be able to continue and we owe everything to our kind sponsors.’
