Aqua-Gas was formed in 1984 to carry out the sales, marketing and distribution of valves and fittings to the UK water industry.
1985 - The company evolves..
The valve manufacturing facility at Corby was built and Aqua-Gas Manufacturing was formed. The facility specialises in manufacture of Gate Valves, Swing Check Valves and Fire Hydrants.
1990 - National Distribution Centre..
The National Distribution Centre was built in Corby, Northamptonshire.
1991 - Gas Market Entry..
The company has started expanding into Gas market. The first contract with British Gas Transco has been won.
1993 - Acquisition of E Peart & Co..
The acquisition of Peart has widened AVK’s product portfolio to include: Couplings, Flange Adaptors, Repair Clamps, Tees, Caps, and Under Pressure Drilling Machines for both water and Gas.
1996 - Acquisition of Bestobell..
Acquisition of water division of Bestobell Valves has further widened AVK’s product range adding gate and swing check valves in sizes above 300mm and butterfly valves from 50mm to 2200mm. This has enabled the company to compete in water and sewage project market.
1996 - Northampton Headquarters..
The company moves to the new headquarters in Northampton.
1997 - Acquisition of Bryan Donkin Valves..
Based in Chesterfield, Donkin was formed in 1803 and manufactures valves for the world-wide gas industry. The company is a major supplier of valves to British Gas Transco.
