The Lewis Foundation provide care packages and gifts to adult cancer patients in hospital, who are going through chemotherapy and surgery. The Charity identified that going through treatment and long stays in hospital can be lonely and boring and therefore they wanted to provide patients with something to help them during these difficult times.
The charity started by Lee Lewis in 2016, initially provided 80 gift packs a month to one ward with a choice of 8 gifts, which was Talbot Butler Ward in Northampton General Hospital, however, the demand for the gift packs grew and over a 3 year period they are now providing free gift packs to six hospitals across the East Midlands, in 2018 they handed out a total of 12,900 gift packs to patients undergoing cancer related treatment.
AVK and Fusion are delighted to announce that during the day a total of £200 was raised, and as part of the collection drive they succeeded in filling a number of very large boxes with care gifts, including; puzzle books, magazines, toiletries and inflatable pillows.
AVK and Fusion would like to thank everyone for their very kind donations and look forward to further supporting this charity in the future.
