World Water Day is an international event held annually on the 22 March, as a means of focussing attention on the importance of water. This year’s World Water Day is about tackling the water crisis by addressing the reasons why so many people are being left behind.
Did you know!
‘In the UK each person uses approximately 150 litres of water every day, most of which is used to flush the toilet and yet, around 844 million people do not have clean water to drink, that’s around 1 in 10 people in the world.’
Why a world water day?
World Water Day is an opportunity to learn more about water related issues, be inspired to tell others and take action to make a difference. Each year, UN-Water — the entity that coordinates the UN’s work on water and sanitation — sets a theme for World Water Day corresponding to a current or future challenge. The engagement campaign is coordinated by one or several of the UN-Water Members with a related mandate.
Submit your water case study today
In order to participate we ask that you submit your best water case study, this should include details of the project/work completed, preferably mentioning AVK products, and how this achieved safe drinking water for all, for example; perhaps you took part in a community project to provide safe, clean drinking water, or maybe you introduced a new means of reducing the level of NRW, or did you introduce a new sustainable way of managing water resources.
The winning case study will receive a luxury 2-day Fanoe Oyster Festival stay in Denmark for 2 persons including a 4-course gourmet dinner, double bed hotel room, breakfast and Oyster Safari. The trip also includes a visit to the AVK headquarters and round-trip flight tickets.
