Strainers and Isolating Valves
To filter out impurities that could damage the control valve it is highly recommended to install a protection strainer on the inlet side. Additionally, isolating valves located either side of the control valve enable ease of commissioning and maintenance.
There is an extensive range of AVK gate valves available in a number of configurations. Isolating control valves - we recommend the standard AVK flanged gate valve, with short face-to-face length, or the variant prepared for an actuator.

In many cases it is recommended to install an air valve at the inlet of the control valve in order to avoid trapped air pockets in the system. Air
pockets can sometimes cause increased energy consumption, operation costs, pressure loss and increase the risk of water hammer.
