AVK UK Partners with Ashgate Hospice to Support Bereavement Support Groups

AVK UK, is pleased to announce a new two-year partnership with Ashgate Hospice, committing to a monthly donation to help support the charity’s Bereavement Support Groups. 24-02-2026

Ashgate Hospice is located in Old Brampton, Chesterfield, in North Derbyshire, nestled on the edge of stunning countryside leading into the Peak District National Park.

The Hospice provides expert palliative and end of life care to the people of North Derbyshire, free of charge, offering compassion, dignity and support when it matters most. They care for people aged 18 and over, living with a life-limiting illness, including cancer, neurological diseases, and end-stage heart, kidney and lung diseases.

Julia Nixon, Head of Marketing for AVK UK, recently visited the hospice and was given a tour of the facilities, discussing ways to support fundraising events and join the business club. She commented

"I was blown away by the incredible work this team does every day. Caring for patients and supporting families at the end of life is such a challenging role, yet they do it with compassion, dedication, and grace. The Hospice is a place of peace and comfort, and it’s inspiring to see the positive impact they make in our community."

Paul Hubbard, AVK UK Chairman and Group Regional Director, said:

"Ashgate Hospice plays an extraordinary role in supporting families across our local area. We are proud to contribute towards their Bereavement Support Groups and help ensure this essential service remains available to those who need it most."

The funding will help contribute to the ongoing operation of the hospice’s specialist bereavement services, which are offered for a suggested donation. Bereavement support is a vital part of Ashgate Hospice’s holistic approach, ensuring individuals and families can access guidance and emotional support following the death of someone important to them.

Charlotte Butterworth, Head of Fundraising at Ashgate Hospice, added:

"We are incredibly grateful to AVK UK for their generous commitment. Their support will make a meaningful difference to many individuals and families experiencing grief. Partnerships like this enable us to continue delivering compassionate care beyond end of life services."

As a charity, Ashgate Hospice receives less than a third of its funding from the NHS and relies on the generosity of the local community to continue providing specialist care across North Derbyshire. This partnership highlights AVK UK’s ongoing commitment to supporting local communities and important charitable initiatives.
