David Hurley: Director, AVK UK Smart Water

Role: Responsible for the AVK Smart Water programme and technologies, specialist valves and combined product packages. Oversees the AVK Smart Water Team and the provision of technical support. Assisting water companies to manage their assets more efficiently, reduce leakage and significantly improve performance with less customer interruptions.

Experience: Twenty-five years in the water industry, including seven years with Wessex Water. Extensive knowledge of the day-to-day practical challenges of network management and operations. 

Peter Fletcher: Business Development Manager - Glenfield Invicta (AVK UK sister company) & AVK Smart Water team

Role: To ensure optimal performance of AVK’s Smart Water product range including correct product selection and installation to ensure products achieve whole life costings.

Experience: Working in the water industry for over 30 years. Specialising in services and installations.”

Huzaifah Ahmed Saleem (Huzzy): Technical Project Manager, AVK UK Smart Water. 

Role: To deliver successful Project Management across the product range including VIDI & ARISENSE along with customer awareness of overall savings and improved delivery of clean water.

Experience: Master’s degree: Mechanical Electronics Systems Engineering. Glasgow Caledonian University.  Studying for CEng (Chartered Engineer).  All-round AVK Smart Water Product Specialist.

Anthony Whittam: Water Network Specialist, AVK UK Smart Water.

Role: Delivering industry specialist advice on effective network pressure management. Product recommendation, installation and technical support on control valves, air valves and check (non-return) valves.

Experience: Water Industry: Apprentice. Pipefitter. Heating Engineer. Technical Support Engineer (technical advisor on installations, commissioning, assembly, fault finding, specification and product selection). Sales Manager, National Sales Manager.

Rob Edwards:  Smart Water Specialist, AVK UK Smart Water

Role: To oversee the state-of-the-art VIDI product range and the ARIsense Smart Water air valves. Offering specialised technical guidance, support, product selection and installation.

Experience: Electronic Engineering water, gas, and power industry. Sales & Support Engineer – Water datalogging, meter reading, and advanced pressure control equipment. BDM – advanced AMR, data logging & control technologies. Senior Account Manager – Water process AI/ML software to predict, control, & optimise the complete water cycle.
