The Customer Testimonials Say it All: Ben Roberts - Customer Response Winner

Ben Roberts has been named the Customer Response Winner at the AVK 2026 Expect Awards 26-03-2026

Ben is an Internal Sales Engineer based at AVK UK in Staveley. Ben’s role is to respond to customer queries and ensure they receive the right product at the right time. Ben’s commitment to customer response is evident from the many unsolicited testimonials he has received from customers:

  • Helpful, quick turn around of quotes, able to talk through and resolve queries
  • Demonstrated excellent product knowledge, and delivered a prompt response
  • I’ve never experienced such excellent service and helpfulness
‘All of us working in frontline customer support are helped by the fact that AVK products are high quality and reasonably priced. However, we really sell on the service and support we provide to customers. My aim is to be both the first point of contact and the final point of contact for customer enquiries, to take responsibility for ensuring my customer’s needs are met.’

Ben’s route into AVK UK sales and support has been an unusual one. Ben spent six years with Sainsbury’s, eventually running the Sainsbury’s Superstore on The Moor in Sheffield which involved managing a team of 100. Seeking to achieve a better life-work balance, Ben eventually became a member of the AVK UK customer service team:

‘For me, successful customer service starts with good communications. Firstly, actively listening to the customer’s challenges and requirements; asking the right questions and being curious enough to resolve any problems; and, being open and honest in communications with customers.’

Ben has been part of the team that has launched the new pipe repair mechanical and fabricated fittings EXPRESS service offer: 
‘The aim is to deliver the required products to site same day or next day. On occasions this could include the team at AVK Syddal working through the night to fabricate the fittings needed by the client.’
Ben is also energised by the recent introduction of the new AVK in the UK Customer Service Charter:
‘The Customer Service Charter is the foundation on which exciting improvements to customer service are being delivered. Watch this space for announcements!’
The AVK Expect Awards 2026, held at Ansty Hall, brought colleagues together from across the United Kingdom to celebrate those who turn AVK’s Expect Promises into action.
