Vicky Halsall has been named the AVK UK Customer Response Winner at the AVK 2026 Expect Awards 10-03-2026
The ‘Customer Service’ Award recognises colleagues who consistently make AVK easier, faster, and more reassuring to do business with.
Vicki’s Expect Award citation states that she has been the driving force behind the sustained and consistent performance levels achieved by AVK Hyde, the home of water and gas fittings design, development and manufacture. Reliability and availability have been her number one focus. Quite an accolade!

Vicki joined AVK Hyde in November 2021 initially working in an administration role, and has grown into a pivotal production planning position:
“I’ve been working in production planning for about 18 months. I receive the sales enquiries, calculate lead times, and ensure orders are correctly entered into the planning system. Whilst production planning is my ‘day job’, I also wear a lot of other hats including helping others with various issues.”
AVK Hyde has recently launched an EXPRESS service whereby customers can receive stocked, dedicated and wide tolerance fittings in just 24 hours. This sits alongside the 24/7/365 emergency repair clamp service also operated at Hyde.

“In previous jobs I have spent a lot of time in sales roles, so I’m very customer service orientated and understand that side of the business. We operate a 24 hour production schedule at our workshop in Hyde, and this allows us to respond quickly to urgent customer requirements like Emergencies & EXPRESS deliveries. To meet expectations, we have to be adaptable and willing to reschedule production plans in response to changes in demand.”
“Our new Operations Manager, Gary Holt, has been a big help. He has clarified roles and responsibilities and created a culture that enables us to meet challenging production targets.”
The AVK Expect Awards 2026, held at Ansty Hall, brought colleagues together from across the United Kingdom to celebrate those who turn AVK’s Expect Promises into action.
Reflecting on the occasion, Vicki said:
“I loved the Expect Awards day. It really flowed well, the guest speaker (Paralympian, Danny Crates) was inspiring, and the food was delicious. I couldn’t fault it.”
