The Challenge

An Essex-based, long-standing customer of AVK, needed a bespoke fabricated flange adaptor, DN 500, 511mm OD pipe connection, manufactured and ready for collection within two working days. It was for an ongoing project and meeting exact specifications which demanded rapid co-ordination across AVK’s internal teams and supply chain partners.

The Solution

The AVK Express enquiry landed with Ben Roberts, Internal Sales Engineer for Mechanical & Fabricated Water Fittings, who immediately flagged the request. From there, AVK’s internal teams and supply chain partners worked in sync to deliver to the customer’s exact request and to their specified deadline. The supply chain and planning team at AVK Hyde are aware of the importance regarding the AVK Express Service requirements over their daily processes to minimise lost time, which is critical in maintaining the service. Victoria released work orders, enabling manufacturing to start first thing Monday at AVK’s Hyde facility in Manchester. The warehouse and production teams prioritised the job, fabricating the part from scratch and preparing it for collection by Tuesday morning.
